Monday 1
I bought a cutting mat today. I'm feeling productive and proud, like this is a step towards me being a more professional worker. Although I've just been using it to slice masking tape while sitting in bed and watching Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. But that's because I know how to have a good time while working.
Tuesday 2
got the job I wanted. bliss.
I was supposed to draw all day today, but I decided to run around instead. I've done one side of one of the thirty double sided things I'm working on this month. YEAH I'm good.
Thursday 4
This morning the boy found a typewriter in a skip, he told me about it, we salvaged it in the pouring rain and I was marvelously surprised that it worked.
But not just worked, it has a whole reel of ribbon, virtually unused, and also has the wonderful ability to change fonts... CHANGE FONTS.
I'm sorry, I may say this again.... i can CHANGE THE FONTS.
I had my first shift at new job this afternoon also. All in all a delightful day. I have a feeling tomorrow might be just as lovely. Having more than one typewriter is making me all giddy on the inside.
Monday 8
Spent the day decorating my phone, and generally procrastinating about working on the project that I REALLY SHOULD BE WORKING ON.
But, my phone looks totally amazing. I'll put a picture up soon.
Saturday 13
So, I got a job in a little shop, which is exactly the job I was looking for. It's been stocktake and I've been working basically every day, so I haven't had much time to do anything creative... apart from last Monday, when I spent the whole day procrastinating so hard about my current project that I ended up decorating my phone Japanese Deco style. It's now easily twice the weight of what it once was. I made bows, and roses and a donut out of fimo, and then found a huge collection of rhinestones and fake pearls. I'm outrageously satisfied with the results. It's so kitsch even my mum loves it... which I something, I think.
Monday 15
It's raining, beautifully. I had a wonderful day with the lover yesterday running around in the par exploring mossy objects and chasing a turkey. That's about it.
Did a drawing. yay.
My friends are making me sad. They're all so down. It would be nice to just know a few happy people. But I love them, anyway.
Wednesday 17
I actually cannot cope with my room anymore. I need to dedicate a whole weekend to just removing every single item and then carefully, and strategically placing the things I want back in. I have too many things, I have so many bits of paper, and inks and pens, and pencils. Maybe I don't have too many, maybe my inability to keep anything sorted is my problem.
LABEL DRAWERS.
Also, I got my typewriter ribbon in the mail. If you'd like a hand typed letter just send me an email with your address in it, and I'll write you one.
Thursday 18
So, The Scribble Project is back up and running with the latest Big Team Scribble. Which is amazing, I do love Oppy and her wonderful ideas so much. Also, emerging from the hazy fog of the internet is Swapdoodles.com. Send them your doodle, and you'll get a doodle sent to you. An excellent idea.
I will be participating in both of these, in as big a way as possible. Stay tuned for more.
Also, I expect you all to be equally excited!
Friday 19
Sending out my first letter today. I'm pleased that somebody is interested, even if it's only one person. All the time I'm not working on the Big Project (I know I keep mentioning it, and not showing it to you, but it's going a lot slower than I thought it would) this weekend, I will be spending on doing some doodles for Swap Doodles.
Today is for stitching and drawing.
CraftZine has an amazing collection of articles about organizing craft spaces, and work areas. I am inspired and exceptionally jealous, and really must get around to sorting out all my belongings sooner rather than later. I just have so much to do.
I have uploaded a little preview of the things I'm working on right now. (Down the bottom silly!) I'm not sure how special it is, but I feel really good doing it.
Sunday 21
Two months until my birthday. Yay. Not that I'm really one of those people who reminds every body and counts down the days and so on, but in the last ten years I've only had one enjoyable birthday that didn't end in tears (not always mine) so, I'm really, really looking forward to this year.
I'm having a cowboys and indians party. It's a pretty lose description though. I basically just want all my friends to put feathers in their hair, wear big hats and run around the park with booze, and guitar and all kinds of lovely things.
And a BBQ, wouldn't be a party without a BBQ.
I'm on a really perky kick this morning. Hopefully it will last all day and I'll be super excited by everything. Waking up happy feels good. Oh yes.
Monday 22
The internet is a never ending time suck of awesome images and hilarious people.
I will never ever get anything done ever again.
