As part of the Old Bus Depot Markets Celebration of Wool weekend I will be running three 1 hour long workshops on twining and sting making.
All materials are supplied, and I’ll show you how to make string from fabric, yarn, plastics, hairs, fibres and grasses.
An addictive skill suitable for anyone with good finger mobility*. Twining is a great introductory technique to textiles arts, spinning, basketry and weaving, and a really lovely thing to do at home while watching a movie on the couch. Knowing how to make string out of anything is also a marvellous survival tool, and can certainly make it easier to solve a lot of problems while camping.
*If you have limited dexterity but are still interested in learning please contact me and I will see if I can find a solution to any mobility problems you may have. There is more than one way to make a string 🌸
