Two finished tea towels side by side.
I am so happy with these and I feel wonderful about them.
I was feeling so glum about my work of late and I think it may have been because I wasn’t drawing very much. Drawing really does help everything. I love drawing. Oh man.

Yes, I am wearing all red. Red for filth.

Second painted tea towel. This one was under dyed in a powder blue and then I painted it with a hot pink fabric paint.
I’m really happy with these and am starting to feel very positive about my work. Which is great because I’m still not sleeping and at least something is awesome.

Two different headbands. The blue one was first. The red is second, it has the same heddling pattern with an extra few warp threads on the left hand side to even out the design a bit more. I hopefully warped on enough to make another two or three with the same heddling but different weft yarns and tieups.

Copic and Pantone marker tests on cotton/linen.
Fresh and washed with detergent.
I’m going to try another with some heat setting and see if it makes a difference.

Dry linework. I am really enjoying how it looks draped.

Reconsidering over dyeing…

Painted tea towel.
This is a linen/cotton towel that I purchased when I first decided to try making things rather than just drawing in sketchbooks.
I am planning on over dying this in a green or foggy aqua. Misty forest realness?

stromb:

Had a complete meltdown about the piece I’m doing for my dye class. I hate it. I hate it to pieces.
So I decided to start working on some other designs to maybe paint with some dye.
I’ve spent a lot of time stressing and thinking about what I DO love the most about making.
For someone going through the kind of sludge in my mind I think I really need to stop weighing myself down with things I don’t enjoy.

Precise drawing turns me into a big whingy baby.
